Activities

Relax & Swim

Don’t be surprised if you find yourself the only one on the secluded Salchi Beach, still a hidden gem along the Oaxacan coast. Relax in the shade of our beach palapas, unwind with a good book, stroll along the area’s only white sand beach, or take a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear waters of Salchi Beach.

Walk & Bike

Lace up your shoes and set out to explore the nearby beaches—some are small and secluded, others stretch for miles—but all are stunning and rarely crowded. We’ll provide you with maps and tips for breathtaking early morning hikes. And if you bring your mountain bike, we’ll guide you to some fantastic off-road trails.

Massage

We have a talented masseuse who comes to Manta Raya upon request, and guests can’t stop raving about her. Many wonder how this petite lady has the strength for such an amazing deep tissue massage! It’s truly a treat to unwind with a massage right on the beach—listening to the soothing waves, feeling the breeze, and drifting off to a peaceful nap.

Boat Trips

Want to experience marine life up close? Take a boat trip from San Agustin or the harbor in Huatulco—you might spot sea turtles, dolphins, manta rays, and even whales (from December to March). Either way, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of Oaxaca’s rugged coastline and discover hidden beaches along the way. We’ll be happy to connect you with a local captain..

Horseback Riding

In Cuatunalco, you can gallop along the beach and ride through the waves of the Pacific Ocean. The horses are well-trained, and the local guide has extensive experience, ensuring that even beginners can fully enjoy the experience.

Monday Market in Pochutla

The busiest spot on Mondays? Pochutla. This is the day when indigenous people travel down from the mountains to sell their fresh, organic goods. The market is vibrant and full of life, though you might also come across some imported goods. While you’re there, be sure to try a refreshing agua de sabor (fruit water), the best carnitas (slow-cooked pork), or roasted chicken that practically melts in your mouth.

Costa Chica & Eco reserve

Explore by boat the stunning mangroves and diverse wildlife (crocodiles, birds, large lizards, and more) in La Ventanilla. Visit the charming Pueblo Mágico of Mazunte, take a refreshing swim in San Agustinillo, enjoy a cocktail at the famous (clothing-optional) beach in Zipolite, and wrap up your journey with a stop in Puerto Ángel, a laid-back and no-frills Mexican fishing village.

Hagia Sofia

Visit the breathtaking botanical paradise of Hagia Sofia, a vibrant garden brimming with tropical flowers, exotic fruits, and lots of different native plants. Be sure to explore the hidden cave behind the waterfall, or for the more adventurous, try the thrilling zip lines that stretch over 2 km. Breakfast and lunch are included, and we’ll gladly arrange for Armando or his son Rodrigo to guide you through their incredible little paradise.

Star Gazing

The only nightlife in Salchi is stargazing. With minimal artificial light, the night sky is filled with millions of stars, countless constellations, and of course, the Milky Way. If you happen to visit during full moon and become sleepless, take a romantic walk along the moonlit shores of Salchi Beach.
